Base camp - South Dakota

Hi all

We are currently in South Dakota and staying with Greg's cousin Roger Miller. He is at the foot of the Spearfish Mountain and we are at an elevation of around 4,000 feet.

Today we were taken for a 4WD tour of the area on spearfish mountain by a neighbour Jack across the road in his F150 "pick up truck'. The Aspen trees are looking beautiful as they are coming into fall and we saw a large number of turkey hens in the wild. Jack was hoping to see a coyote or two and some white tailed deer, or some mule deer (ones with large ears) but no luck on this occasion. Greg is checking the car at the present time and it is only a week away for our departure on the first leg of our trip up to Canada and then down the west coast of USA. Must say goodbye for now and have some lunch and off to shop.
